As the rollout of the debut album from Melbourne jangle-pop trio Billy Peril continues, the band and Cheersquad Records & Tapes proudly release single number four – ‘After All’.

The sounds of nature and birdsong usher in warm bass and snappy drums, as Will Dyer sings of life’s darker moments giving way to glimpses of heartwarming optimism. Reminiscent of a band like The Cars, the song features dreamy, melancholic keys and eerie synth sounds – perfectly countered and complemented by new wave guitar stabs and a rich chorus.

As Dyer explains, the song details “the familiar ache of the times; estrangement, growing unease and that particular frustration of missing someone to the point that it’s pissing you off. Spliced are the dark clouds as the occasional light breaks through.”
