Wally “Meanie” Kempton took the plunge in 2018 and launched his brand-new record label, Cheersquad Records & Tapes. Primarily creating the new label to release material he is passionate about, Wally says “I want to put out music that I really love, and think should be heard. I also want to make older, fabulous Aussie material available on 12” vinyl for the first time”. With a background in music, music and more music, Wally has worked at radio stations, venues, record companies, distributors, been a booking agent, artist manager, tour manager, a band member with Even and The Meanies, and now a record label founder with Cheersquad Records & Tapes.
