Cheersquad Records & Tapes are proud to introduce a new band from some old dogs, THE DELIVERABLES.

THE DELIVERABLES will release their debut EP HOP ON IT on Thursday October 29, and have released the first track from it, “Making Hay”, today.

Sometimes good things happen to those who wait. And waiting is what Piers Buxton has been doing for decades now, watching friends and strangers in other bands do their thing, whilst quietly writing and recording songs in the background… lots of songs.

Mission Brown’s drummer, guitarist and a longtime friend of Buxton’s, Gus Kelly recently heard one of these songs that made his ears prick up. ‘Sorry’ track 2 on the upcoming debut EP ‘Hop on it’, is a longing, heartfelt confession. It’s a song’, as Piers sings, ‘about a regret’, lamenting lost time and lost opportunities, wishing he could have summoned a false sense of security, enabling him to hop up on that stage when he was young.

Gus played this song to James and Max, the other two members of Mission Brown, who were immediately impressed and immediately onboard. So with studio time already booked for Mission Brown’s fourth album, the time was used instead to record 6 of Piers’ songs over 2 days.

And so, THE DELIVERABLES was formed with a mix of old dog experience and a mature-aged debutant. Max Maxey, Gus Kelly, James Crosland and Jason Kain, who was brought onboard for the finishing touches, bring a wealth of experience from bands such as Mission Brown, The Tonalists, Stupidity, The Mustard Club, Rufino and the Wreckage, Mister Sippy and The Jackson Code to name a few.

The end result… guitar driven rock with stories of misfortune, misdirection, love, hate, life and death and the characters, including every one of us, that make this world go round. It’s been worth the wait.
