The Johnnys were contacted by a representative of Mushroom Records who said they had some 2 inch tapes of Johnnys recordings from the original sessions recorded in the 80’s. They were going to throw them out and asked if The Johnnys would like them, naturally they said yes. The tapes were digitalised so that The Johnnys could listen to them and they were surprised to find outtakes and different versions of previously released songs, little heard B sides and songs previously unreleased.
They took the tracks to the renowned record producer Phil Punch and asked him to remix them. Each track now sounds very different from the original releases, Pray to John Wayne was a stand out track and deserves its own release .
