A FEW WORDS
Melbourne artist George Carroll Wilson’s glam-rock-power-pop solo sonic onslaught Pollyman delivers unstoppable hooks and uncoppable looks with a sizzling, tantalising one-two combo of rock and roll and pop from the past, present, and future.
The debut, self-titled Pollyman album (2020) established Wilson’s sound – a thrilling conglomerate of styles that took influence from heroes such as Jeff Buckley, David Bowie, and Small Faces, fused with his own sparkling, melodic, power-pop leanings, explosive guitar playing and acrobatic vocals, and an unabashed splash of glitter and eyeliner.
Now signed to the Australian label Cheersquad Records & Tapes, Pollyman release the first single from their forthcoming new album due early in 2027.
Bristling with power-pop melodies, tumbling rhythms, and a glam strut and stomp, ‘Walking In Circles’ expertly navigates thrilling dynamics and rousing handclaps to deliver a song about the cyclical nature of one’s troubles.
“Just when I thought I’d cleansed myself, or rid myself of issues, I wake up and hey! there they are once again, causing me grief,” reveals Wilson. “Fundamentally, this is a song about the repetitive nature of everyday life, the circle in which I feel I’m sometimes stuck, and what I might need to do in order to get out of it.”
On-stage, Pollyman is muscled up by a dazzling and deadly four-piece ensemble, flaunting a defiant sound in their exhilarating live performances. They’ll love you and leave you wanting more, more, more!
