Wally “Meanie” Kempton has taken the plunge in 2018 and launched his brand-new record label Cheersquad Records & Tapes. In 2018 Cheersquad Records & Tapes will release new material from acts such as Money For Rope, Nick Craft, Minibikes and Los Chicos, along with older material from artists including Snout and The Meanies.
Primarily creating the new label to release material he is passionate about, Wally says ‘I want to put out music that I really love, and think should be heard. I also want to make older, fabulous Aussie material available on 12” vinyl for the first time’. With a background in music, music and more music, Wally has worked at radio stations, venues, record companies, distributors, been a booking agent, artist manager, tour manager, a band member with Even and The Meanies, and now a record label founder with Cheersquad Records & Tapes.
